Dubai Cares funded an Education, Protection, and Water & Sanitation Program in the Republic of Chad, employing an integrated approach that connected basic education with child protection mechanisms, health and nutrition services such as immunization, de-worming, and vitamin A supplementation, as well as HIV/AIDS awareness, access to clean and safe water, and sanitation facilities tailored by gender. As part of its intervention, Dubai Cares built several new schools, each consisting of two classrooms, and dug multiple wells and water points to improve access to clean water. The program also constructed numerous gender-specific latrines and accelerated training for untrained and community teachers to enhance educational quality. Additionally, desks and chairs were distributed to schools, and teacher guides on life skills were printed and shared. Children received deworming treatments and nutritional supplements, while parent committees were trained, and literacy courses were provided for women, fostering community involvement and empowerment.
