Dubai Cares, in partnership with the Madrasa Early Childhood Programme, Zanzibar, the Aga Khan Development Network, and the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, worked to increase access to quality primary education for 4- and 5-year-old children in Zanzibar. The program benefited 26,439 children by implementing contextually relevant, cost-effective, and replicable pre-school approaches.

The program focused on three major components: the professional development of teachers; the creation of conducive and constructive teaching and learning environments; and the strengthening of school, community, and government support systems.
