In partnership with Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP), this program improves access to sustainable and affordable WASH services in Madagascar’s cities of Antananarivo and Mahajanga.
With only half the population accessing improved water and 12% accessing sanitation, poor WASH conditions contribute to high child mortality rates, including diarrheal diseases affecting 51% of children under five.
The program focuses on constructing and rehabilitating WASH facilities in 30 schools and health centers, delivering hygiene education to promote behavioral change, and building local institutional capacity while influencing policy at local and national levels.
