The program is being implemented in two of the largest cities in Madagascar, Antananarivo and Mahajanga, where access to sustainable and affordable WASH services is a high priority.
The program includes:
• Construction/Rehabilitation of WASH blocks in 30 Schools and Health centers with establishment of School Management Committees to sustain operation and maintenance of the block
• Providing Hygiene training and awareness raising in schools and communities
• Capacity building and training of national ministries and local authorities
• Generating of evidence through research for effective policy enforcement and investment in WASH in Schools in Madagascar
