Dubai Cares in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education launched a five-year program to support Comoros in strengthening its education system and improving learning outcomes.
The program focused on increasing access to Renovated Koranic Preschools through Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD), scaling up educational reform using the Competency-Based Approach (CBA), and reducing gender disparities in education. Key interventions included the construction and renovation of preschool and primary classrooms, capacity building of teachers through training in CBA methodologies, provision of age-appropriate educational materials, and the promotion of gender-sensitive practices to encourage school attendance and retention, particularly among girls.
