Dubai Cares, in partnership with UNICEF, funded a program in Bosnia and Herzegovina that aimed to increase access to organized early learning opportunities and improve the physical, socio-emotional, cognitive, and language development of 7,600 children aged 4 to 6 across 46 municipalities. The program placed particular emphasis on reaching vulnerable children, including those from the Roma community and children with developmental delays and disabilities.
The program worked to raise preschool enrollment rates for all children within the target age group, including Roma children and those with disabilities. It also enhanced the quality of early childhood education across the country and provided support for evidence-based advocacy efforts. These efforts contributed to the adoption of relevant legislation, policy development, and budgeting to support the expansion of early childhood education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
