Dubai Cares supported the establishment of a multi-year program that benefited hundreds of libraries across Asia and Africa. The program also funded the creation and publication of several new children's titles in local languages across multiple countries. The Million Book Challenge was implemented in a dozen countries through partnerships with Room to Read, Scholastic, and Teri Press. In collaboration with Room to Read, Dubai Cares funded the distribution of books in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Zambia. In India, through a partnership with Teri Press, Dubai Cares distributed books to primary school children in various vernacular languages including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, and Malayalam. Working with Scholastic, Dubai Cares distributed books in Lebanon, Palestine, and the UAE. Sets of "My Arabic Library" were donated to camp schools in Lebanon and Palestine. In the UAE, Dubai Cares distributed Arabic books to children in the Northern Emirates.
