Dubai Cares, in partnership with Children in Crossfire, UNICEF and SoCha launched Fursa kwa Watoto (“Opportunities for Children”) in Tanzania—an Early Childhood Development program designed to improve the developmental and learning outcomes of pre-primary boys and girls in marginalized communities. The program focused on strengthening teacher training and school leadership. Key activities included designing and testing pre-primary education enhancement packages across two delivery models: pre-primary classes attached to primary schools and satellite classes in remote, hard-to-reach areas.

The program also measured the impact of these interventions on children’s learning at primary school entry and by the end of Standard 2. In addition, the initiative enhanced institutional capacity for early childhood development and produced evidence to inform education policies at both national and regional levels.
