The program enhances literacy skills among children in Sri Lanka’s Northern (Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu) and Southern (Galle, Matara) provinces. It benefits students, teachers, and parents through teacher training and community engagement. Centered on the Literacy Boost model, it focuses on assessing literacy levels, building educator capacity, and promoting reading within communities.

The program supports the development of competency-based curricula and government textbooks, while training both pre- and in-service teachers through practical, local, and mentored approaches. It also emphasizes large-scale, research-based methods to strengthen reading instruction across the education system.
