Primary School Construction and Adult Literacy Program

The program supported the construction of three primary schools in Malawi and further provided 18 months of adult literacy and life skills classes to 60 women in each school. It also offered parents and community members the opportunity to contribute an average of 600 volunteer days toward the construction of the schools, along with capacity-building activities tailored to teaching and community-based projects.

Through the Primary School Construction and Adult Literacy Programs, Dubai Cares aimed to achieve the following goals: increase access to education for girls and women, improve primary school infrastructure, and raise literacy rates among adults.
