In partnership with buildOn, Dubai Cares supported the construction of schools in remote communities in Nepal, with the goal of improving access to quality education, particularly for girls and women. The program aimed to upgrade primary school infrastructure, create safe and sanitary learning environments, and increase literacy rates among illiterate adults.

Beyond infrastructure, the program empowered local parents and community members to actively participate in school construction and engage in capacity-building activities that foster long-term community ownership. Additionally, the initiative improved access to adult education, by training local facilitators to deliver basic literacy instruction, equipping illiterate men and women with the essential skills of reading and writing.
