Dubai Cares, in partnership with The END Fund, supported efforts in Namibia to combat and reduce the morbidity caused by Schistosomiasis (SCH) and Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis (STH) among school-aged children (6 to 15 years old). The program implemented both school-based and community-based treatment strategies, bolstered by additional funding from other donors. Dubai Cares’ initiative in Namibia is in line with the goals of the 2012 London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), a global alliance spearheaded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

By the second half of year two of this program, the deworming campaign will reach 100% geographical coverage of all 1,497 schools at primary level in all 13 regions targeting all school-aged children.
