Dubai Cares, in partnership with Sinfonía por el Perú, launched the second phase of a music education program that aimed to provide children and youth in Arequipa with access to quality music learning as a means of social development. The second phase focused on contributing to the running costs of the center, hiring 25 teachers and administrative staff, and expanding the program’s reach. While the main music center remained in the same school as in Phase 1, three additional modules were established in other schools, including a new one in one of Arequipa’s poorest areas.
Students participated in special events such as concerts and benefited from the introduction of a new digital learning component. A digital classroom was equipped with a screen, projector, sound system, and 30 iPads loaded with tailored software and a learning platform to teach music theory and solfeggio in an engaging and practical way. This setup not only enriched the learning experience but also created opportunities for virtual exchanges with other centers and access to lessons from renowned international music instructors.
