Dubai Cares supported a fully integrated WASH-in-Schools program in Sierra Leone, employing participatory learning techniques to help school children adopt positive hygiene behaviors. The program aimed to reduce water, sanitation, and hygiene-related diseases while improving quality of life through the revitalization of primary education and boosting school enrollment. As part of this initiative, Dubai Cares distributed 5,000 School Sanitation and Hygiene Toolkits to 5,931 primary schools, reaching approximately 1,194,503 children. Additionally, at least 10,000 children across 20 primary schools in the Western Area district benefited from improved water and sanitation facilities and hygiene promotion.
