Dubai Cares launched a 3-year girls’ education program in Egypt across three governorates in Upper Egypt. The overall objective of the program was to improve the quality of education for girls within a safe and engaging school environment by adopting a multi-faceted approach. This approach aimed to equip girls with the necessary competencies to develop leadership skills through extracurricular activities and sports. The program also provided girls with opportunities to practice leadership by participating in Student Unions, addressed the norms and values of school stakeholders to promote acceptance of girls’ empowerment, improved learning facilities to create a more comfortable environment for girls, and enhanced the quality of education by building teachers’ capacities in teaching Arabic and Math, as well as training them in active learning techniques and positive discipline methods.
