Dubai Cares supported a ground-breaking national school-based deworming program launched by the Government of India to treat all children at risk of parasitic worms. Dubai Cares’ contribution complemented the Government of India’s commitment to the program, which aimed to deworm 140 million children in its first phase. Dubai Cares partnered with Evidence Action’s Deworm the World Initiative, an initiative addressing worm infections, anemia, and malnutrition among children, to support transformational change in health and nutrition for children in India. As part of its contribution, Dubai Cares supported Evidence Action over four years to collaborate with national and state governments in developing national deworming guidelines and communication campaigns, establishing prevalence survey guidelines to assess the impact of deworming, and providing technical assistance for state-level scale-up.
